Grant Applications Are Coming In

Thanks to Bogdan's outreach at MoBU 2024, and our own advertising, the applications for Aripa's grant cycle are coming in. Applications are open now, and are being accepted through July 31st, 2024. There are very few restrictions on these grant applications. All we ask is that you be a Romanian visual artist, or a visual artist living and working in Romania. That means that any Romanian visual artists, even if they are living abroad, are welcome to apply. It also means that any expatriate artists living in Romania can apply, regardless of their nationality.

The goal is simple, we have been raising money to support Romanian artists as part of our goal and mission as a nonprofit, and we dedicate the majority of the money we raise toward direct aid to working artists. We had our fundraiser last March, and the portion of the funds raised for this year's grant program is approximately $5,000. That sounds like a lot of money, but it will not go very far if we have many applicants for funds.

Therefore, we are now launching a GoFundMe campaign to help augment the funds available for grants. Hopefully we can increase the number of grant proposals we can support. If you can help, or if you are willing to share the link with your own social media network, it would be greatly appreciated. We want to fund all the applications, but will only be able to support as many projects as the budget allows. We try to keep the process as simple as possible. We also understand that English may not be your primary language, so please understand that your application will not be judged based upon the strength of your English skills.

Once the application window has closed, the Board of Directors will meet to decide which and how many projects we can support, and candidates will be notified by the end of October.
